REPs Ireland to develop standards in 2014

Monday 23 December 2013

REPs Ireland is delighted to announce that in 2014, a comprehensive review process will take place of current standards, and also look to develop new standards that can be used to recognize the knowledge, competency and skills of exercise professionals.

REPs Ireland use the EHFA standards as entry standards for the categories currently available on the professional register. The EHFA standards have been developed by Technical Expert Groups with representatives from across Europe and from a variety of key industry stakeholders.

REPs Ireland will review these standards, and will investigate whether there are some additional requirements unique to Ireland that need to be adopted, to meet the regulatory and statutory needs of our industry.

A number of Technical Expert Groups will be formed in 2014 which will be tasked with the review of each standard, and will produce a report & recommendation to REPs Ireland.

The ongoing review and update of standards is very important to ensure that the proffessional register not only reflects the needs of the Public and the profession, but also changes that take place within the industry nationally and internationally.
